Pandemic control restrictions make offline events and events difficult to host. Several areas and countries have entered the endemic stage of the COVID-19 outbreak, creating opportunities for businesses to connect offline. Almost three years have passed since TentuPlay has engaged with other games and businesses offline, making this an excellent opportunity to meet existing partners and new companies. In just October 2022, the TentuPlay team met more than 1,000 people and businesses from Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, and other countries. In this post, we would like to share some insight and exciting updates from the game industry in South East Asia in this post.
TentuPlay’s first stop is in Bali, Indonesia. Asosiasi Game Indonesia (Indonesian video game industry) warmly invited TentuPlay to visit Bali and give us an incredible chance to meet +100 indie game developers and publishers. Indonesia Game Developer Exchange 2022 (IGDX) is a joint event between the Indonesian Ministry of Communication & Informatics and AGI (Asosiasi Game Indonesia) that hopes to connect local companies with international companies. Our growth team, represented by Merdy, met and connected with many interesting local and international businesses at IGDX 2022, including Majamojo, Agate, Mythic Protocol, Eizperchain, Eternal Dream, and more.
Our team learned that local developers have significant potential for future growth as well as offer unique and distinct value propositions. Local developers have also expressed interest in going above and beyond to compete with other developers and improve their business metrics, including partnering with enablers like TentuPlay to assist them.
Our next stop is Jakarta, Indonesia. ‘Duckie Land Con 2022: The Future of Metaverse’ is an event hosted by Duckie Land to educate and empower Jakarta and its surrounding areas, particularly students who will be the key to developing the metaverse in the near future. One of our team members, Merdy, was a keynote speaker at this event. He shared during his talk that it can be confusing for early adapters to navigate the metaverse because its size is enormous. In addition, more activities, events, and even brand activations will be involved and have already been involved, creating an abundance of options for users and creating a domino effect that users have grown wary of.
As TentuPlay has grown over the last few years, they have met more and more businesses with the same problem. In addition to users having trouble finding items or content they like, companies have many challenges in providing personalized experiences to each individual, creating an endless loop of unsatisfactory user experiences. The third stop is Singapore. GamesCom Asia 2022 marked TentuPlay’s comeback after three years hiatus on GamesCom Event. During GamesCom Asia 2022, our CEO, Hyeyon Kwon, shared how to improve revenue in games by implementing the fast-cycle game operation. By gaining insight, running experiments, and proving hypotheses, fast-cycle game operations can help game developers optimize their gameplay quickly. She explained that building a data-driven approach to learning user behavior can unlock the unlimited possibility of growth and further improvement. The insight gained from the previous step will not go to waste since TentuPlay’s platform provides 30+ features where businesses can test hypotheses and see the results. As well as presenting, TentuPlay also hosted a booth at GamesCom Asia 2022, where more than 300 companies could meet and connect with TentuPlay’s team. During the event, Enterprise Singapore, Disney, Yeeha Games, Behaviour Interactive, Potato Play, and many other companies visited our booth and shared information about the game industry’s updates and challenges.
4Q is a significant time for TentuPlay since we can finally meet old and new friends and assist them in any way we can.
